In my almost 30 years of practice, I have spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars learning the best ways to help you, because my focus is on RESULTS. Chiropractic is not only a science, but an art and a philosophy. Without an intimate knowledge of all 3, it is almost impossible to best serve you. I have that knowledge and treat everyone who comes in as I would my own family.
Zone Healing Technique
Zone Healing is chiropractic technique designed to balance your brain and spine so that your body can restore itself to maximum health. The human brain has six centers that form in the embryonic stage of development that are responsible for maintaining your health.
What happens during Zone Adjusting?
Your body may be properly classified as an electrical machine and the six brain centers represent the positive pole, while specific points in the spinal cord represent the negative pole. Each zone regulates and influences your overall health. All diseased conditions, aches and pains, and other discomforts experienced by the body can be attributed to one or more of the zones.
In order to locate the zone that is out of balance, there are six zone points on the head corresponding to each zone that are touched with slight pressure. The point where you feel discomfort indicates the zone that is out of balance with the bodily systems its controls.
Once the zone has been identified stimulation of points along the spine sends healing energy up the spinal cord to the brain to create balance. The brain center sends out signals to the imbalanced system to promote healing.
Zone 1
The Glandular Zone
All of the glands in the body are regulated and controlled by the glandular center in the brain. When any of the glands of the body have been disturbed by trauma, shock, disease or strain, there will be a reflex nervous action along the nerves.
If this disturbance is of significant intensity, normal nerve energy from the positive to the negative pole will be prohibited. This results in decreased activity in some of the glands and increased activity in others.
Zone 1 controls the glandular functions of the body. When a tense or taut ligament is identified the patient is suffering from a glandular disturbance.
Balancing the glandular system can help with depression, focus, reproductive functions, energy levels, and the immune system.
Zone 2
The Eliminative Zone
The eliminative zone is responsible for removing waste products from the body. Principal organs involved are the sinuses, lungs, urinary tract, bowels and skin.
Adjustment of this zone encourages increased excretion from these organs which due to a disturbance have inhibited function.
Balancing it can help with asthma, sinus problems, allergies, skin conditions, constipation, and bladder issues.
Zone 3
The Nervous Zone
The nervous zone is the part of the brain that controls our thoughts and emotions and is divided into two distinct halves called hemispheres. The hemispheres of the cerebrum are connected by the corpus callosum, containing millions of transverse nerve lines over which working exchange takes place.
The nervous system from the apex of the brain to the tips of the fingers and toes, to the glands and vital organs of the body. It is mechanically a united whole made up of nerve cells, nerve fibre and nerve tissue.
The center in the brain which is in control of the nervous system may be out of harmony due to many causes. A correction in the zone will bring about and improvement not only in the entire nervous system but in various organs associated with the zone.
Balancing your nervous system can help boost your immune system, improve your sleep, help you relax, help with headaches, symptoms of concussions and improve the function of your eyes and ears.
Zone 4
The Digestive Zone
The fourth zone regulates the digestion and assimilation of foods and the production of substance to keep the body in health. This zone is often found to be out of order in many cases.
When the fourth zone is out of harmony this is directly related to diet. If chemicals from foods, drinks or toxins are incorrectly combined there will be unpleasant reactions leading to discomfort and imbalances within the body.
Correcting the zone are greatly aided by proper eating habits. Balancing this zone helps to support immune function, decrease sensitivities to foods, normalize appetite and weight as well as improve absorption of the nutrients in food you consume.
Zone 5
The Muscular Zone
The fifth zone coordinates and regulates the muscles of the body. The activity of this center is largely of a reflex nature in origin and is excited by impulses which come to it from peripheral organs.
Any injury or shock, will distort the normal functioning of the fifth zone, resulting in a disruption of not only the equilibrium of the body but also a displacement of the center of gravity.
Tenderness is evident, and the tender side will be in a state of contraction. The traditional chiropractic’s techniques concerns itself with the correction of these bodily displacements.
Balancing your muscular system can lead to the elimination of acute or chronic pain, improve your posture, and give you stronger balance.
Zone 6
The Circulatory Zone
Tissues and organs of the body are dependent on not only the presence of blood but its continuous movement as well. This is regulated by the circulatory zone.
Blood is kept in continuous movement by the heart, a central double organ. The heart pumps blood through arteries and it is then further distributed through a network of capillaries to organs and tissue.
The minute capillaries vessels permit the passage of nutritive materials into the tissue spaces and the veins collect and return the blood to the right side of the heart. Blood therefore moves in a cycle and the movement is termed circulation.
When any of the arteries, capillaries or veins contract or become too stretched the pressure must be changed to compensate them. Conditions such as high or low blood pressure or varicose veins can occur.
Balancing the circulatory zone will enable the brain center to compensate and these conditions will be eliminated.
Cranial Release Technique
The Cranial Release Technique (CRT) is an adjustment that influences your entire body. As we move through our busy lives with chronic low-level stress, studies have shown that brain hemisphere activity can become unbalanced, causing everything from structural pain to emotional unease.
Ever wonder why stubbing a toe can give you a headache? CRT manipulates the connective tissue (fascia) over your skull, which is connected to the rest of your body. This allows for a major release of tension that starts in the nervous system and can spread to all of the muscles and connective tissue. The brain can then shift away from stressful responses like “fight or flight” and focus on internal healing.
Patients have reported feeling clearer headed, regaining balance and experiencing faster recovery times from injury.
And the best part? It never takes more than three minutes.
